The Barcode of Life Data Portal has shifted to using login ID's from Barcode of Life Connect, the DNA Barcoding Network in an effort for broader outreach to the barcoding community. Connect provides a place to discuss, share, and meet other barcoders, and now has over 2000 members. If you are not already a member of the Connect network, you can apply for a Connect username at http://connect.barcodeoflife.net/main/authorization/signUp.

This connectivity between the two sites will help enable:

• easier sharing of private datasets and results
• encourage users to comment on the usability of common barcode analysis tools
• give users one less username/password combo to keep track of
